If you have need to send emails from the Edelnet wireless network using non-edelnet emails, or if you need to send edelnet emails from outside our wireless network, then you need to change the outgoing emails settings.  In both cases the incoming (POP3) email settings need to stay as they are, otherwise you will not be able to receive emails anymore.

1.  Sending emails from the Edelnet Wireless network using non-edelnet emails:

Log into your account settings.  Contact our Edelnet office for an outgoing username and password.

Enter mail.pmbnet.co.za as your outgoing mail server (SMTP). Substitute it in the outgoing mail server field above.  Leave all other fields unchanged.

Now click on More Settings.

Select the Outgoing Server tab.  Check the box as indicated above and enter the username and password issued by our office.

Now select the Advanced tab.

Change the Outgoing Server (SMTP) port to 25.  Leave all other settings unchanged.

Click OK and get out of the email settings.  You will now be able to send emails from the Edelnet Wirleless network.

2a.  Sending Edelnet emails from outside the Edelnet using the mail.edelnet.co.za server

Like above, Log into your account settings after having contacted the Edelnet office for an outgoing username and password.

Change the Outgoing server to mail.edelnet.co.za - leave all other settings on the page unchanged.

In the Outgoing Server tab, enter the username and password supplied by the office.

In the Advanced tab, change the Outgoing Server (SMTP) port to 587.

Click OK and get out of the email settings.  You will now be able to send emails from both the Edelnet Wirleless and other networks.

2b.  Sending Edelnet emails from outside the Edelnet using the mail.edelweb.co.za server

Like above, Log into your account settings after having contacted the Edelnet office for an outgoing username and password.

Change the Outgoing server to mail.edelweb.co.za - leave all other settings on the page unchanged.

In the Outgoing Server tab, enter the username and password supplied by the office.

In the Advanced tab, change the Outgoing Server (SMTP) port to 587.

Click OK and get out of the email settings.  You will now be able to send emails from both the Edelnet Wirleless and other networks.
